As a member of the WAABEE Self-Help Association, you gain access to a supportive community that provides financial and social assistance during significant life events.
Membership benefits include:
Financial assistance during funerals and grief-related expenses.
Support for members facing job loss due to illness.
Contributions for marriage and family reunions.
Emergency financial assistance for visiting family members.
Participation in special fundraising initiatives for the Oromo community in North America and abroad.
Social gatherings and networking opportunities.
Become a Member
Membership Processes:
Submit the application form and follow the outlined procedures.
Pay a $100 non-refundable registration/reinstatement fee.
Contribute $20 monthly to maintain membership status.
Full membership is granted after six months of contributions or a lump sum payment.
Membership is terminated if dues are unpaid for one year.
Reinstatement requires settling past dues and Executive Committee approval.
Eligibility:
Commitment: Uphold social norms and comply with the Association’s bylaws.
Dependents: Must be listed on the application to receive benefits.
Participation: Encouraged to join committees, initiatives, and activities.
Rights: Vote, hold office, and request general meetings.
Withdrawal: Voluntary withdrawal allowed, but fees are non-refundable.
